What is an Earnings Calendar? An Earnings Calendar is a quarterly schedule and a timetable that lists the individual release dates of financial statements containing performance data for publicly traded companies. These releases occur in the months following the end of each fiscal quarter of the year. Not all companies release their data on the same dates, which creates a schedule or calendar.

The delay after the end of the quarter is due to the accounting period that allows companies to prepare the collected data. Many important documents are updated at this time, including the company's income statement, balance sheet, and cash flow statement. Other important information is also released, including net income, net sales, and earnings per share.

Earnings per share (EPS) is often the headline piece of data released because it is a quick measure of a company's performance. EPS is one of the most important tools used to evaluate and make investment decisions about a company.

Investors and analysts carefully analyze updated EPS information to gauge a company's performance relative to expected earnings. If the actual EPS report differs significantly from market expectations, the stock price can change quickly and dramatically. EPS is one of the pillars of determining a stock's value because it indicates profitability, growth, and relative performance.

The Earnings Calendar, which appears as a tab under the Economic Calendar link on Investing.com, lists the dates and all the important upcoming data releases. It is organized by date in a table with sortable columns.

The buttons at the top of the table allow users to look back at releases that occurred both ‘yesterday,’ and ‘today,’ but also upcoming releases grouped into tomorrow, this week, and next week. The calendar icon on the right side of the menu bar allows users to select a specific date or block of dates.

The filter buttons at the top right of the table allow users to filter by country, sector, and the importance of the report to the market. Note that using the Clear link at the top left of the filter window clears all selected data to begin a refined search. The Select All link should be used if a broad search is preferred.
